once upon a time...
...just a few short years ago, there was a boy and a girl who lived near eachother and were every good friends. this boy liked to tease his friend and tell her he liked her. sometimes he could be a little mean or annoying, but the girl thought he was just trying to be funny. time passed but his feelings for her did not. 
years later, when this girl realized that her friend was serious, she told him that she liked him too. they dated throughout in high school and as soon as they graduated, they became engaged. 
so this boy and girl have known eachother for half their lives and will finally be married in a few weeks.
